My name is Ragan Keefer and I'm a theatre director, stage manager and producer in London who just graduated from the University of East London with a MFA in Theatre Directing.
I enjoy telling stories that captivate authenticity, realism and naturalism. The stories that I want to explore and tell an audience are those that explore the lives of people. Telling stories that allow others to connect and empathize with is my passion. To have audience members and actors be able to connect with a character is what I aim to achieve. The technique that I mainly use within the rehearsal room is the Meisner technique but I also use Stanislavski and Chekhov acting techniques.
In my practice currently I am exploring the Meisner technique within a verbatim theatre piece about my family who underwent DNA testing. Using the Meisner technique to explore the roles within a verbatim theatre piece by allowing the actors to pull from themselves within these characters who are based on real people
I believe in tellings stories that need to be told. Stories that we don't often see on the stage. It's important to have pieces of theatre that everyone can relate to.
